Get started in 3 simple steps

Step 1

Signup! Tell us your name, address, and contact information. Simple!

Step 2

To ensure the safety of all students and staff, upload your Health Inspection Report that has been completed within 10 months of the signup date. You will need to resubmit this every 10 months from date of inspection to keep your active status. We also require an upload a valid Food Handler Certificate. Once these 2 documents have been reviewed by our team, your account will be active and your business can be listed on our site to get exposure to numerous parents.

Step 3

The Ministry of Health has guidelines to ensure that food served in schools are nutritous enough for students. We are extending these guidelines to organizations outside of school, ensuring that children during PD Days and Camps also receive nutritious meals. Input the ingredients of your dish in our proprietary ingredients analyzer to verify that the meals you serve to schools and organizations pass Ministry guidelines. Don't worry, we do not share your ingredients with anyone else - only you have access to it, so your secrets are safe with us! Guidelines can be found here.

Frequently Asked Questions

I don't have a Health Inspection report or a Food Handler Certificate. Can I still create a listing?

No, you cannot create a listing if you do not have both of these documents. To ensure the safety of staff and students, we require that all restaurants and caterers upload their valid Health Inspection Report and at least one employee have a valid Food Handler Certificate. We keep these on file and present to organizations and parents upon request.

Can other users see my Health Inspection Report and Food handler Certificate?

No, normally your uploaded documents are on file and not displayed with your listing. However, if an organization or parent requests to see them, we show them your verified documents on file.

How does the system work?
  1. Signup to our system and upload your Health inspection report and Food Handler certificate.
  2. Once we approve your report and certificate, you will receive an email to set up a time for onboarding. During the onboarding, we will share knowledge about how to design meals that children will like to maximize your orders, training about allergies, using our nutrition analyzer, among other things. At this time, we will answer any questions you have.
  3. You can, at anytime, input your business information and start making menus and dishes.
  4. Once the above are complete, list your business from your account for the world to see! Then sit back and wait for the requests to come in.
  5. When a request comes in, accept (or decline) it.
  6. A few days before delivery, as specified in your account, you will be able to view the final order.

Can I choose the day I want to cater?

Yes, in your account settings, there is a field to indicate which days you prefer to cater. Organizations may still contact you for a different day, so in that case you can decline their request.

What happens if I have more than 1 request for the same day?

Organizations can't see when you have been scheduled to fulfill other orders, so they may contact you to cater when you are busy. In that case, simply press "decline" when the request comes in.

I don't want to deliver lunches to an organization far away. What can I do?

In your account (Menu Account), you can specify a radius in kilometers, indicating the maximum distance you want to deliver lunches from the address associated with your account in our system. When an organization or a parent logs in, we will only display the restaurants and caterers located within the specified distance radius of their organization. If you are located farther than this radius, your listing will not be displayed unless they choose to view all listings on our site. If they contact you and you are unable to deliver due to the distance, simply decline their request.

How do I get paid?

Once the organization confirms the delivery of the lunches, the staff will go into the system and indicate "delivered". Payment will be e-transferred to you using your login email address.

Don't children have a lot of allergies to which I have to be careful?

Parents of children with allergies are always careful of what they order when they go out to eat. The same thing applies to student lunches - they will only order if they see that your dish has none of the allergens to which their child is allergic. As part of the onboarding, we provide training related to allergies. Please use this knowledge and ensure that you specify what allergens your dish includes when you create your dishes in the system and ensure no cross-contamination when cooking.

I accepted a request to cater, but something came up. Can I cancel?

In general, cancellations are not allowed as parents may have already paid for meals in the system. If this is an emergency, please contact the organization directly to setup an alternate date and time to cater instead.

Can I indicate a minimum order?

No, you cannot indicate a minimum order as organizations cannot guarantee the number of parents who will order. We understand this, and will work with you to curate a menu that parents will want to purchase and kids will want to eat to maximize your orders. Remember that although you don't know how many orders you will get - your business has been exposed to hundreds of parents from various ethnic backgrounds, working in both small companies and large corporations across different sectors. We are one of the few platforms, if not the only one, that can help you reach such a diverse and extensive parent audience at no cost.

Who delivers the food?

You are responsible for the delivery of your food. During the onboarding, we provide all the instructions you need to learn how to separate and label the meals.

Is it free to use the platform?

Yes, it is absolutely free to signup and list your restaurant or caterer and menus for hundreds of parents to view! One of our missions is to support local small businesses in boosting their revenue. The more restaurants and caterers join us, the more variety of nutritional and ethnic meal options are available to children, contributing to their overall health, focus, and attention - another one of our missions.

I don't know how to create a meal fit for children.

No problem! As part of the onboarding, we collaborate with all caterers and restaurants to create their menu offerings. Get in touch with us, and we'll provide you with tips and tricks for designing dishes that children will enjoy, and parents will be pleased with.
